Flying Stars — your home's annual energy map
Your home is not static. Its energy changes every year. Flying Stars is the Feng Shui system that tracks those changes. It maps nine energy numbers across nine sectors of your home. Each year, the numbers move. Some sectors become powerful. Others become difficult. Knowing which is which changes everything.
What are the nine stars?
Each star is a number from 1 to 9. Each number carries a specific energy — for wealth, for health, for relationships, for obstacles. The stars are always present in your home. But their positions shift by one sector every year, following a fixed pattern called the Lo Shu sequence.
Example layout for 2026. The star highlighted in gold is the annual wealth star (9). Its sector is the best room to use this year for work, meetings, and important decisions.
Why Sanctuary needs your home address
To map the stars to your specific home, Indre needs two things: the facing direction of your building and the period it was built or last renovated. The facing direction comes from your address and the compass bearing of your front door.
Once Indre has these, she can calculate which sector of your home holds which star — not just for this year, but for every year going forward.
What is the wealth corner?
The wealth corner is the sector of your home currently occupied by the prosperity stars — typically Star 8 (present-cycle wealth) or Star 9 (future wealth, very strong in Period 9 which began in 2024). Activating this sector — spending time there, keeping it clean and bright, working or sleeping there — is one of the most practical things you can do with Flying Stars knowledge.
This changes every year
The annual stars move on Li Chun — around 4 February each year. The sector that held the wealth star last year may hold a difficult star this year. This is why Flying Stars guidance is updated annually, and why the same room can feel completely different from one year to the next.
Most people notice the shift without knowing why. They feel more productive in one part of the home. They sleep better in a room they previously avoided. Flying Stars explains what is happening.
How precise does the address need to be?
Street-level accuracy is enough. Sanctuary uses your address to find the facing direction of your building and your floor plan orientation. If you live in a large building, the facing direction of the main entrance is what matters most.
